Intro

The Mirage Lightsout 2.0 trail camera features invisible IR flash, 30 MP photos, and 720p videos. However, the detection range is minimal, and pictures are limited to one per trigger. The game camera is compatible with a Python Cable lock and powered by eight AA batteries.

Camera Ratings

Detection Range: 8/20

The detection range is only about 40 feet.

Speed: 2/10

In most cases, the animal almost exits the view before the cam starts recording.

Accuracy: 9/10

While the false trigger ratio is relatively good, the low false trigger ratio is probably related to the short detection range.

Battery Life: 5/10

The battery life is about average.

Daylight Images: 4/10

The daytime images are grainy even under good lighting conditions.

Lowlight Images: 2/10

The lowlight images are even grainier than daytime images.

Night Images: 3/10

While the flash is invisible, the flash is hugely underpowered, and unless the animal is very close to the camera, the images are pretty much unusable.

Design: 4/20

Overall, the design of this camera is just horrible. The setup options are extremely limited, the screen is small, and the fonts are super tiny, almost unreadable.

Verdict: 37/100

If I were to summarize this camera in one word, it would be "JUNK." The images from this camera are just awful. The camera will not take more than one picture per trigger, and the detection range is minimal. In addition, the camera is so poorly designed that you can't even format the memory card inside the camera, and you must use your computer to do so. Finally, I can't believe we actually paid $109.99 for this junk. It is a disgrace for the manufacturer to ask for over a hundred bucks for this trash.

Pro Tip:

Buy a different camera.

Any cheap no-name brand camera from Amazon will do better than this model.
