The Vanbar D700 has some pros that make it appealing for our purchase.
A wide lens paired with invisible illumination is a rare combo, so we were excited to test this model.
The finish of the first camera we received had somewhat bright yellowish colors.
We noticed right away that the trigger was on the slower side when in video mode, and more often than not, the animals were very close to our camera before it started recording.
But that's common for cameras at this price point.
At least the first camera delivered acceptable image quality results, so we decided to order another one.
The second unit's finish was significantly different, leaning more towards a greenish highlighter-like color.
To our disappointment, the images from the second camera, while still acceptable, were slightly more grainy, even in daytime videos taken with the same settings.
On the positive side, both cameras survived extreme cold conditions up high in the Rockies, delivering some amazing footage.
We couldn't get the listed 75 feet of detection range, but the wide 90-degree lens is more suited for up-close footage anyway.
The slow trigger is a drawback, but there aren't many choices with a true 940nm invisible flash at this price range that can deliver 4K resolution videos.
Overall, the Vanbar D700 offers solid value for its price.
If you're looking for an affordable trail camera with 4K video, wide lens, and invisible flash, the Vanbar D700 is worth considering, as long as you're aware of its limitations regarding trigger speed and detection range.
Remember, it's not a top-of-the-line model, but for budget-minded users who prioritize the no-glow feature and a wide lens, it's a worthy contender.

I purchased 4 of these Vanbar trail cameras over the past year. They have all failed. I will not buy this brand again.
We are sorry to hear that. We have two units. One was purchased in June 2023, and the other in September 2023. Both are still working OK.
